Social media has taken over our lives a little too much than necessary in the past decade. We may think that we can display whatever we want but there are rules which create a certain impression on of you from profile/s.

A new research reveals that using too hot a photo on your profile may as well kill your chances of getting suitors as opposed to getting more of them. Experts have also been consulted on this matter for offering insights so as you why too much of a ravishing photo is not actually a good idea for online dating profiles.

To quote Billy Joel "It's a matter of trust!" According to the sources at ABC's KNVU AM radio, "The perfect photo for your online dating profile might be too hot to trust.".

A team of researchers at the University of Connecticut ran an experiment for learning how people judged each other solely on the basis of their online dating profile pictures. 671 participants had been shown pictures of both girl and guys that was either enhanced with editing or the impression itself was too hyped versus a casual down-to-earth kind of impression.

The team then discovered that guys were less probable to trust girls who posted "enhanced" pictures with great lighting, better angles and more make-up. According to Rory McGloin, a communications professor at UConn and the lead author of the study, this did not stop the men from wanting to date the female but they just "didn't trust her.".

On the other hand, women reported that they find guys with enhance

d profile "more

trustworthy" quite the contrary to how guys actually feel. McGloin stated, "Attractiveness of the male served as a halo. Once they found him to be attractive, they assumed all of the other traits were good as well." It was also pointed out by McGloin that in the case of this study all the individuals had been fearless of their opinions as their actions had no consequences. While the use of a hot photo for online picture may work for men, that same study reflects that women has to be more cautious and avoid over-hyping their photos as they might look "too good to be true" to men and just be an overkill.
